Shibdon Road, Blaydon is a new build load bearing masonry dwelling situated in Blaydon, Tyne and Wear. The site originally housed an NHS clinic which was demolished to enable the proposed development.
Due to the close proximity of Shibdon Pond and the potential presence of contamination across the site it meant there were a series of investigations required at the planning stage to negate any potential risks to the end user. There were specific reports / surveys required as part of the Planning Application where we were required to manage and liaise with specialist consultants throughout.
The key to developing a scheme which achieved ‘Planning Permission’ on this project was the way in which we suitably managed external consultants and liaised with the Local Authority Planning Department to provide a design that they looked upon as ‘favourable’ but did not compromise the client’s desired aesthetics.
