Shaun is Associate Director of The Home Designers and Director of The Home Engineers. Shaun left school and became an apprentice at a steelwork fabricator making bespoke structures and staircases. However, he soon realised that he couldn’t fulfil his potential in that position and decided to retrain. He joined JCC in 2007 as an apprentice technician; he worked hard and studied hard on day release, first attaining an ONC, then HNC. He continued studying and achieved HND, and then attended Leeds Metropolitan University where he gained a BSc in Civil Engineering. Throughout this time Shaun continued to work with the Directors of the business and became a proficient structural engineer and technician, producing excellent clear and concise drawings, supported with effective structural design solutions.

Shaun decided that he wanted to try and use his skills in another field of the industry and went to work for a consultancy providing design services to the Offshore Sector. However, Shaun says
“I was expecting to be involved in high end complex projects, but it just wasn’t as fast paced or as exciting as I thought it would be”.

After discussing his position with the Directors, all saw the potential for doing something different where Shaun could use his skills to their maximum. Shaun was subsequently appointed Associate and Manager of the “The Home Designers.”

After successfully growing the business and establishing it as a market leader in its field, Shaun was appointed as a Director of The Home Engineers. The Home Engineers specialize in providing structural design services for residential development and small scale commercial modifications. Shaun now manages his own team of technicians and engineers.
