Project Scope RIBA 0: The Home Designers were approached by Mylockup.com to provide a new standout entrance, consisting of office space & storage areas, to their site in Northallerton.

RIBA 1 - 3: A photographic and taped measure survey was undertaken to ascertain detailed information on the existing building and plot where the new structure will be formed. Our client wanted a standout entrance which showcased their facility and provide ample office space and extra storage space. The West elevation, which faces the road into the industrial estate, consists of large corner glazing and is a large canvas to highlight the company’s distinct logo. The site for the new extension is currently a carpark so it was important for us to maintain some car parking spaces within the site and access to the roller shutter door. We decided to set back a portion of the South elevation to allow access to the existing roller door and incorporate a car port, providing 5 parking spaces. The car port allows us to maintain onsite parking and utilities space on the first floor. Grey cladding was used to fit into the surrounding industrial estate and a hint of orange is a nod to the company’s distinct orange logo.

RIBA 4-5: Once the proposal gains planning approval, we will provide detailed architectural construction drawings and technical data. Working closely with sub-contractors and structural engineers (The Home Engineers) to provide a full pack of construction drawings.

RIBA 6-7: Works have not started on site.
